Simon “Botoshi” Clifford | Warrior of the Shielding Blade
Simon started training in the martial arts as a child. He currently holds the rank of Yondan, 4th Degree Black Belt, in To-Shin-Do.
He was awarded the title of Botoshi, To-Shi Warrior Knight of the Shielding Blade, by Stephen K. Hayes.
He also holds Black Belts in other martial arts including Nidan’s in the Bujinkan Ninpo Taijutsu and East West Martial Arts Federations. He has trained with some of the most recognized practitioners in the arts, including Stephen & Rumiko Hayes, John Poliquin, Mark Russo, Mark Davis, Brett Varnum, Dennis Mahoney as well as other senior instructors of Ninjutsu.
Simon is a mechanical engineer and President of Tekmar, a specialty manufacturing company.
Married for 25 years with three sons (who are all Black belts in To Shin Do), he is a homebody and “Mr. Do It Yourself.”
In addition to his business travels, he has conducted training in “close-quarter self defense” for business travelers and airline flight crews around the country.
He also conducts outreach programs and community self defense classes for non-profit groups, schools, and associations.
